Marcelo's work addresses the themes of memory, time, and identity. In much of his work, he appropriates images from different traditions in drawing, creating an apparent lack of structure to establish a vocabulary which never ends. This derives from the pleasure he finds in the studio and an approach to art as a method to understand the world and oneself.
